Eric Minar named Washington State Director for ChunJiDo International!
Staff Sargeant Eric Minar USAF of Tacoma, Washington has been appointed as the Washington State Director for ChunJiDo International. Mr. Minar has served in the Air Force for 11 years and during this time he has been stationed in Germany and Washington. Mr Minar has most recently served his country with great honor during his deployment to Iraq and Kyrzgastan. Mr Minar holds Black Belt rank in the art of ChunJiDo and has also trained in Wushu Kung Fu, Aikido, and Taekwondo. Mr Minar also taught self-defense to troops during his deployment to Iraq. *Mr. Minar, God bless you for serving your country with honor and we look forward to your leadership in the state of Washington!*

SiGung Rudy Duncan presents Kemchido Seminar at Evansville ChunJiDo Academy!
Evansville ChunJiDo Academy is honored to host a seminar by SiGung Rudy Duncan on November 6th in Evansville, Indiana! SiGung Duncan will be presenting his art of Kemchido, which he has spent a lifetime developing based on the concept of blending the arts of Hawaiian Kempo, Tai Chi, and Silat.The topics discussed and demonstrated in the seminar will benefit every martial artist regardless of style or system. Sensei Roby Irby of Hillsboro, Illinois holds advanced Black Belt ranking in many arts including Taekwondo, Krav Maga, Jujitsu, and Taijukai. Mr. Irby has extensive Law Enforcement Taining including, Ground Fighting for Law Enforcement Officers and Pressure Point Control Tactics. Frank Fuller of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Joins Chunjido International!
Frank Fuller started Korean martial arts in the mid 1980s. He holds a 5th degree black belt and has trained in various Korean and Japanese systems. Sensei Fuller also holds black belt rank in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu, and Taekwondo. He competed periodically in forms and sparring competitions in his younger days and has taught classes, developing black belts at various locations, primarily at university recreation centers and martial arts schools. He has also been elected to several Halls of Fame in recent years for his contributions to the arts.

Shihan Jesse E. Dwire IV Joins Chunjido International!
*Chunjido International is very honored to have Master Jesse E. Dwire IV as its newest affiliate!* Master Jesse E. Dwire IV (M.D) started his official training in 1989 with Sigung Rudy Duncan in Camillus, NY. Received Black belt in 1993 1994 – 1998 Attended Niagara UniversityStarted Niagara U. Karate club - promoted 3 people at Niagara who continued the school after M.D.’s graduation - Continued to train with Sigung Duncan the entire time at college. 1995 – April Earned Nidan / 2nd Degree 1997 – January earned Sandan / 3rd Degreee 1998 - Obtained Bachelor in Social Work, minor in Criminal Justice 1999 - Attended Onadaga School of Therapeutic Massage (one of the top 10 schools in Nation at the time)Obtained Massage License with 3 strong points Sports Massage and Shiatsu as 2 of them. 1999 Moved to Lowell / Chelmsford Massachusetts and took over an existing school. 2000 – Started training with SGM George Pesare – Was recognized by the Kaito Gakko as a Black Belt- Continues to this day to seek training and knowledge of Original East Coast Kempo from SGM Pesare 2000 – earned Yondan / 4th Degree black belt MSDC 2004 – Left organization in Chelmsford and Created Dragon-Phoenix Martial Arts an Affiliate school of Duncans Martial Arts Academy. 2004 - Earned Godan (5th degree Black Belt) and “Master” / “Sifu” Title in Dec. of 2004 from Sigung Rudy Duncan – in Karazenpo GoShinjutsu and Shaolin Kempo 2005 after training in the Art Of Kempo-Jutsu under Prof. Kimo Ferreira,earned rank of 5th dan - 2005 inducted into AMA Hall of Fame – for outstanding efforts in promotion of Martial Arts dedicated to hosting International Seminars and Tournaments. - 2009 Inducted into World Martial Arts Federations Hall of Fame as Kempo Master Instructor of the Year 2009 earned and tested for the rank of Shodan in Soke DePasquale’s Combat Ju-Jitsu June 2010 - earned 6th degree black belt and Shihan Title Shihan Dwire will assume the role of Massachusetts State Director for the Chunjido International martial arts organization. *Shihan Dwire, Welcome to Chunjido International!*

Professor Emmanuel Ortega Joins Chunjido International!
*Chunjido International is very honored to have Professor Emmanuel Ortega as our newest affiliate!* Professor Ortega began his martial arts study in Shotokan and Taekwondo. While stationed in Germany during his enlistment in the US Army in 1979 Prof. Ortega studied Kodokan Judo. In 1985 Professor Ortega returned to Hawaii and met his mentor Grandmaster Professor Tony Sotero Jr. 9th Dan in the American Jujitsu Institute, 5th Dan in Kajukenbo, and Master Guro in Escrima Tabosa. Prof. Ortega was honored to be promoted to black belt under Prof. Sotero Jr., and was honorably accepted as a personal student of GM Christopher Matsuo, Bagua./Daito ryu Roppo Kai Aikijujitsu, and Ninjitsu. After three years under GM Matsuo, Prof. Ortega was promoted to Black Belt. Congratulations Sensei Nathan Meredith!
Congratulations to Sensei Nathan Meredith, 4th degree Black Belt Instructor in the North American ChunJiDo Association, recipient of 2010 College of Science Highest Academic Achievement Award by the Chemistry Department, University of Alabama Huntsville. Sensei Meredith will graduate this spring with a double major in chemistry and mathematics and has been invited by the University of Notre Dame to complete his post-graduate studies, teach and do research for Notre Dame. *Sensei Meredith, we are so proud of you!*

US Director Nancy Cutrell Promoted to 3rd Dan!
Congratulations to our US Director, Sensei Nancy Cutrell, who was promoted to 3rd Dan Black Belt in the North American ChunJiDo Association and awarded the "Sensei" title in the art of ChunJiDo. Sensei Cutrell was tested in kata, sparring, self-defense, and board breaking for over 2 hours, outdoors in the pouring rain, wind, and 50 degree temperatures by Grandmaster Robert Cutrell and six other Senior Black Belts from the association. Soaked to the bone and physically exhausted, Sensei met all of these challenges and completed the requirements with amazing determination! *Congratulations Sensei Nancy Cutrell!*

Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Mohammad I. Tianero, Sifu Werner Leuschner, and Grandmaster Robert Cutrell who were recently featured in the publication, "Martial Arts Masters of the 21st Century." Published by the Martial Arts Association - International, an organization founded in 1964 and representing over 120 countries, this magazine highlights the top martial arts Masters from around the world.
