Sifu Steven Aldus

Sifu Steven Aldus along with his wife Mrs. Kim Aldus own and operate Aldus School of Martial Arts in Peoria, Illinois. Sifu Aldus began his martial arts training in 1969 while serving in the military during the Vietnam War.He was introduced and trained in the arts of Hsing-I Ch’uan, Ba-gua Ch’uan, and Old Yang Style Tai Chi Ch’uan. His instructor was, now deceased, Li Chi Lan. Sifu Aldus’ training line is Hopei and his great, great grandfather is Li Ts’uan-I.

Sifu Aldus continues to travel the country sharing his arts and demonstrating Hsing-I Ch’uan and Tai Chi Ch’uan techniques. Sifu Aldus is also skilled in Chinese broadsword, staff, double sticks, and many other traditional weapons as well as many of the Chinese holistic arts and philosophies such as Chi Kung, acupuncture, and herbal medicine.

Sifu Aldus received his 10th Dan Sokeship in 2008 and was recognized as the only known student in the Unites States continuing the teachings of Master Li Chi Lan in the arts of Old Yang Style Tai Chi Ch’uan and Hsing-I Ch’uan. His other rankings include a 8th Dan in Taekwondo, a 2nd Dan in Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Koeppel-Ha, a 7th Dan recognized by the Sangaku, Bujutsu Renmei, and a 1st Dan in Jujitsu.

Sifu Aldus has won many national level tournament championships and has received numerous awards including, Soke of the Year in 2008 and Multi-Disciplined Grandmaster of the year in 2009.
